Dear WSCS Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the Friends of Westchester Secondary Charter School! If you are a parent, guardian, or otherwise involved with our students, you are automatically a member.
What are the Friends? The Friends of WSCS is our school's booster club and PTO. It is a nonprofit corporation, and has 501(c)(3) status so that donations to it are tax deductible. Its mission is to support WSCS through fundraising and volunteerism.
You are invited to monthly meetings to learn about how the Friends can help WSCS and share your input. We elected our 2015-2016 school year officers at our Members’ Meeting this summer, and are still looking for individuals to chair several committees. Most important, however, is that you can volunteer through the Friends to make our school as strong as possible.
Volunteering at WSCS. As you may know, volunteering at WSCS is not mandatory, but is of course encouraged and welcomed. Whether you can commit to one hour, one day, or a regular schedule throughout the year, your efforts make a big difference. Volunteering can include helping with a rummage sale, being a field trip chaperone, making school improvements, running an errand for a teacher so he or she can stay later to help our children, or chairing a committee. It’s rewarding and a great way to get to know your fellow parents, as well as the school’s administration and teachers.

Friends of WSCS Members’ Meetings. We hope to see you at our next Friends of WSCS Members’ Meeting! Notice for meetings will be on this website several days before, and agendas will be posted outside the front office and online no later than 24 hours before the meeting.
We look forward to working with you throughout the year, and to learning your ideas for making our school the best that it can be for our children, teachers and administration, as well as a shining beacon in our community.
